The funeral procession for retired Kennywood Park employee Nancy Jackson wound through the West Mifflin park on Wednesday between her funeral Mass and burial.
The 76-year-old Jackson had worked at Kennywood for 40 years until she retired in 1998 as a bookkeeper. After she died Saturday, her family asked park officials if she could visit one more time.
The park is closed on weekdays for the offseason, but workers had the lights of the carousel lit for the procession.
Kennywood public relations manager Jeff Filicko tells the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that its at least the third time the park has hosted funeral processions for employees. He says families have also spread the ashes of loyal visitors in the park.
