The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard near Adams Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.
41-year-old Aronda Smith, of the 6600 block of North 13th Street, was behind the wheel of a Nissan traveling southbound on the Boulevard when police say she ran a red light and struck an unmarked police vehicle.
A detective from the Internal Affairs Division was driving the police vehicle. He was not injured in the crash.
Smith faces numerous charges including DUI.
