Some southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike were shut down after a trucker died in a Burlington County crash.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes at mile marker 53, which is near Route 206 (Exit 7) in Bordentown Township.

The view from Chopper 6 HD showed a burned-out shell of a truck resting on the highway.

State Police say a truck driver lost control of his vehicle and hit a wall, causing the cab of the truck to catch fire.

There did not appear to be any other vehicles involved.

Police say that the southbound lanes were partially open by about 4:45 p.m.
