Lightning blamed for trash station fire

Firefighters battled a multi-alarm fire overnight inside a trash transfer building in Delaware County.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. in the 2300 block of Concord Road in Chester Township.

The fire was contained to the building and there was no major damage.

No injuries were reported.

According to Joe Vasturia, with Solid Waste Authority, the cause of the fire appears to be a lightning strike.
