Among the runners is 66-year-old Karen Stewart, an athlete with a special goal.
Stewart will be walking Sunday's half marathon. It's a goal she set after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, or MS, in 1996.
At that time she needed a walker or scooter to get around. Slowly, however, she got back up to walking.
This Sunday will be her 31st half-marathon. She's also walked 5 full marathons.
She encourages other MS patients to set goals.
"Always pick something you have a passion for and take baby steps and just stay with it. Keep a goal in mind, start out slow and you will get there," Stewart said.
Stewart also says it's not about crossing the finish line - It's about taking the first step.
