Man shot in Tacony home invasion

TACONY - September 19, 2010

Two armed men dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks burst into a home in the 6700 block of Marsden Street around 3:00 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the victims, a 24-year-old man and his 28-year-old girlfriend, were asleep on the sofa when they woke up and saw two men in the living room.

One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victims while another bound their hands and feet with duct tape.

The thieves then went upstairs and stole $250 in cash.

When they returned, police say the intruders forced the couple into the basement and, once there, shot the man in the stomach.

They also stole an Xbox before leaving through the rear garage door.

The female was able to break free from the duct tape and call police.

Medics transported the male to Aria Hospital, Torresdale Division, where he remains in critical condition.

Both intruders had their faces covered at the time of the incident.
