Water main break buckles S. Phila. street

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - September 23, 2010

The eight-inch main broke about 1:00 a.m. on Thursday at 17th and McKean streets.

A crew from the Philadelphia Water Department managed to repair the main in about three hours.

But the break caused part of the 1900 block of McKean Street to buckle, and that has forced police to barricade a section of the street.

No one in the area had been without water.
