NJ man accused of killing Philadelphia man in May

SALEM, N.J. (AP) - September 24, 2010

Kashif "Boo Dog" Patterson is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

Authorities say Patterson shot Johnnie Maddox as the 31-year-old stood on the porch of a home on May 23. Maddox was taken to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del., where he died June 3.

Patterson was charged in jail, where he's awaiting sentencing on drug-related charges.

Salem County Prosecutor John Lenahan told Today's Sunbeam Patterson's arrest was the result of work by a state, county and local task force.
