Suspect sought in dorm fires at Pa. university

STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - September 25, 2010

The Pocono Record of Stroudsburg reports police say smoke from the four small fires set off alarms in Hawthorn Hall around 3 a.m. Friday.

About 380 students had to be evacuated while fire crews responded, but no serious injuries were reported.

One fire was set in the laundry room and three others were set in bathroom trash cans.

University spokesman Doug Smith says no suspect has been identified, but that Pennsylvania State Police are investigating in conjunction with university police.

Students were eventually allowed to return after about an hour and a half.
