Suspect wanted in two Wilmington bank robberies

WILMINGTON - September 25, 2010

At around 10:21 Saturday morning, police were called to the WSFS Bank on Delaware Avenue for a robbery.

Reports indicate the suspect entered the bank through the front door, approached a teller and demanded money. The suspect then threatened to "blow this place up". The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect who then fled out the front door.

According to police, witness accounts and surveillance footage of the suspect appear consistent with the suspect who robbed the same bank back on August 31st at 11:12 a.m.

The suspect is described as a black male, mid 40's, approximately 5'8, with a large build. The suspect was wearing dark brown sunglasses during today's robbery.

The suspect did not display a weapon in either robbery, however did imply he had a gun in the August 31st incident.

Police are asking anyone who may recognize the suspect or has information regarding these two robberies to contact Detective Patrick Connor at 576-3630 or call Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
