The shooting occurred at approximately 9:30 Monday night on the 300 block of Odessa Avenue.
Police were called to the scene where they found 23-year-old Jeffrey Chambers, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Chambers was rushed to the Christiana Hospital where he later died.
Chambers lived at the location where the shooting took place, according to investigators.
Police had only a vague description of a suspect.
