Delaware State Police say drug charges have been filed against a Hartly area couple after troopers investigating a domestic argument complaint found marijuana plants growing in a toddler's room.

State Police say 22-year-old Stephen J. Freeman and 19-year-old Kristy A. Larlham were arrested after troopers arrived at the home about 5 a.m. Tuesday and smelled marijuana.

State police spokesman Cpl. Bruce Harris said about 15 small marijuana plants were found in the bedroom of the couple's 1 1/2-year-old child, although a portable crib where the child apparently slept was also found in the couple's bedroom.

State Police say 42 oxycodone pills were also found in the home. The two were released on $13,000 bail each and the state Division of Family Services was notified about their child's living conditions.
