The attack happened around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the 3200 block of Lester Road in Northeast Philadelphia.

Investigators say the victim, a 39-year-old woman, was confronted outside of her home by the man, who forced her inside at gunpoint.

Once in the home, police say the man bound and gagged the woman before physically and sexually assaulting her.

He then fled the home with $8,000 in cash, cameras and laptops.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30's, about 200 to 230 pounds standing about six feet tall.

He has a light to medium complexion and a thin moustache. He was wearing black glasses, black clothes, a black and grey knit cap and was carrying a "Jansport" school bag.

The handgun he was carrying was black with brown grips.
