State Police say a farm machine struck overhead power lines, killing two workers on a South Jersey farm and injuring another.

Sgt. Julian Castellanos says the accident happened when a chute on a combine the men were operating struck high-tension wires and the machine caught fire.

Castellanos said a 69-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man died at South Jersey Healthcare's Elmer Hospital.

A third man was flown to Crozer Chester Medical Center in Chester, Pa. His condition was not immediately available.

The accident happened at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in Upper Pittsgrove Township, Salem County, about 30 miles south of Philadelphia.

The names of the men involved were not released pending notification of relatives.

State police and fire officials are investigating.
