According to authorities, at around 11:50 p.m. a group of people were socializing on the sidewalk in front of Womrath Park located in the 4100 block of Kensington Avenue.
At that time, an unidentified male armed with a gun approached the group and shot the woman once in the stomach before fleeing into the park.
The woman was taken by police to Aria Hospital-Frankford Division.
No arrests have been made.
