READING, Pa. (AP) - October 17, 2010

State police in Berks County say 21-year-old Devin Cosme broke out of the Wernersville Community Correctional Facility between 4 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Sunday. Officials did not provide details of the escape but said he was jailed for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The Morning Call of Allentown says Cosme was charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault in the July 2006 shooting of a man sitting in a car at an Easton housing project. The paper says online court records indicate that Cosme pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in Northampton County Court in 2007 and was sentenced to 40 to 80 months in prison.
