Adrien Brody sues over release of thriller film

LOS ANGELES (AP) - October 19, 2010

The Academy Award winning actor sued the makers of "Giallo" last week in federal court in Los Angeles. Brody's attorneys asked a judge to block the film's release, but the request was initially denied.

"Giallo" was released for DVD sales on Tuesday.

Brody's lawsuit claims the filmmakers never paid him $640,000 and lied to him about the project's financing. The suit states that Brody has the contractual right to block the film's release until he is paid the salary and additional damages.

A phone message for defendant Hannibal Pictures was not immediately returned.
