Police couldn't ignore this one

HAILEY, Idaho (AP) - October 21, 2010

Enforcing the pot laws is officially a low priority in the central Idaho city of Hailey.

But police say they couldn't ignore two men driving down Main Street who were smoking pot and drinking beer.

Police Chief Jeff Gunter says the two 19-year-olds were pulled over for not having a front license plate.

The chief adds the arresting officer detected "burnt marijuana" when confronting the men.

Matthew E. Slane and Henry C. Jones now face misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and underage drinking.
