The gunfire rang out around 2:00 a.m. Saturday on the 1200 block of Sheridan Street.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was reportedly shot several times and collapsed.
Neighbors called 911 for help.
The man was rushed to Cooper Hospital for treatment.
Police have not announced any arrests or what led to the shooting.
