The accident took place at City Avenue and 54th Street.
Police say shortly after 5:30 p.m., a 65-year-old woman was attempting to cross City Avenue when she was struck by a Route 52 SEPTA bus.
Medics responded and the woman went into cardiac arrest.
20 minutes later, the woman was pronounced dead.
Police are not sure at this time if the woman died as a result of the accident or from a preexisting medical condition.
