Saving on home improvement supplies

October 24, 2010

Though Habitat for Humanity's ReStore may look like any other home improvement store, you'll be able to find quality items in excellent condition, many of the products are brand new, but everything has been donated.

Billy Dunn of Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County says, "Typically, our product is about 75-percent cheaper than what you would find at a Lowe's or a Home Depot."

That's right, 75-percent!

Individuals and families can drop donations off or call for an appointment and this ReStore will send a truck to your house.

Many companies and businesses also donate their excess stock, and again, much of it is NEW!

"Whether it be windows, doors, siding, wood, roofing materials, A to Z on the home improvement side," Dunn said.

There are four ReStore locations in South Jersey, three in Delaware, and a long list in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

There's a store not just in Montgomery County, but also in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Berks counties. There's also one in Lancaster.
