The bears are well fed this fall

There are plenty of nuts this fall in the Smokey Mountains.

Wildlife biologist Bill Stiver says bears are deep in the forest, munching on a plentiful crop of acorns and nuts.

But good news for the bears isn't so good for the tourists.

Bear sightings usually go along with the foliage viewing.

But the Knoxville News Sentinel reports the fat and happy bears are nowhere to be seen.
