Kathryn Byassee tells a local TV station she found the man in her kitchen at 5 o'clock the other morning.
He was wearing a pumpkin mask.
She says the man forced her into the bedroom and tried smothering her with a pillow.
That's when Byassee says she connected with her foot.
Police are investigating.
