The blaze was reported at 10:18 a.m. Saturday in a room on the eighth floor of the Omni Hotel about a block from Independence Hall, sending guests into the street. The flames were reported under control at 10:36 a.m., and guests were allowed to return about a half-hour later.
Authorities say the body of an elderly male was found in the room. His name has not been released. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
