It happened at a shoe store located in the 2900 block of North 22nd Street around 1:00 p.m. Monday.
Police say a robber walked in and attempted to rob the store. That's when the storeowner shot the suspect several times.
The suspect, said to be about 20 to 25-years-old, was transported to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:12 p.m.
The storeowner was taken in for questioning, however there are no charges at this time.
