Abington mother sentenced for teenage party

ABINGTON, Pa. - November 3, 2010

46-year-old Kathleen Tompkins was sentenced to 30 days to 23 months in jail.

Tompkins, and her ex-boyfriend Daniel McIntyre, hosted a keg party for 40 teenagers and her 15-year-old son last February.

Police say word of the party had spread through Abington Junior High School and officers were alerted. When they showed up at the house they were met by McIntyre who claimed the kids were just watching television.

Later, police found a drunken kid stumbling down the stree. They went back to the house and found about a dozen kids who'd been drinking beer from a keg.

One of them was so intoxicated he had to be taken to the hospital.
