Police say 28-year-old Katherine Burton of Salisbury showed up unexpectedly at the man's home in the 22000 block of Bethel Road on Wednesday night and said she needed a ride because someone tried to sexually assault her. As they walked to the man's car, police say the man was attacked from behind and stabbed him several times in the torso, arm and face.
The attacker fled with prescription drugs he took from his victim and has not been found. The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
Troopers say they determined that Burton knew that the attack was going to occur and she is charged with first-degree attempted murder and other offenses.
