Officials: Pa. teen had gun inside juvenile jail

MEDIA, Pa. - November 17, 2010

Delaware County Courts administrator Philip Damiani Jr. says the unidentified 17-year-old boy was re-arrested Monday after he was found carrying a .380-caliber firearm loaded with eight rounds of ammunition.

Damiani tells the Delaware County Daily Times that a preliminary investigation indicates the juvenile slipped the weapon through at least two searches. He says a juvenile detention officer on duty at the time has been suspended with intention to terminate.

Authorities say the teen had been arrested the day before on a marijuana possession charge.
