Finding alligators not unusual here

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) - November 17, 2010

That's not as unusual as you might think.

Animal control officers in Kansas City, Kansas, report they find a couple of alligators each year.

The latest came the other day when JaBond Warrior spotted a live 3-foot alligator in a plastic bag.

Animal control officers took the alligator to an animal shelter.

A local TV station reports the reptile will likely go to an area zoo.

Experts say the urban gators are usually dumped by their owners when they get too big.
