Lawyer: Bruno Mars court date postponed in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) - November 18, 2010

Attorney David Chesnoff tells The Associated Press the 25-year-old "Just the Way You Are" singer won't have to appear in person Thursday in a Las Vegas courtroom.

Chesnoff says Mars will get a new court date.

Mars' real name is Peter Hernandez. He's accused of having 2.6 grams of cocaine when he was arrested after a Sept. 19 performance at a Las Vegas nightclub.

If convicted on the possession of a controlled substance charge he could face up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Mars' lawyers are Chesnoff and attorney Blair Berk of Los Angeles, where Mars has lived since 2002.
