Philly kitten tossed in microwave has new home

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - November 22, 2010

Wendy Marano, spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, says the kitten recovered from cuts and bruises and was adopted by a local couple that has long supported the organization. She says the kitten dubbed "Tostino" is going to have "a nice loving home."

Authorities say a couple of teenagers in the Juniata section of the city found the animal on the street, and earlier this month put it in the old appliance and tossed it out the window. Officials said the teens recorded the events on a cell phone from start to finish. Officials have said the boys face misdemeanor charges.
