Man arrested in string of burglaries in Md., Del.

NEWARK, Del. - November 24, 2010

Authorities say a Delaware State Police detective arrested 31-year-old Jesse Lee Goodchild of Elkton, Md., as he was getting into his girlfriend's van near Newark about 8 p.m. Monday.

Police say Goodchild is believed to have robbed businesses in Cecil County, Md., and New Castle County, Del. at knifepoint. Lt. Bernard Chiominto of the Cecil County Sheriff's Office says Goodchild has been linked to at least 15 armed robberies since October.

Goodchild was being sought Monday by police Monday for allegedly carjacking a 79-year-old man in Elkton and robbing a restaurant in Wilmington.

He was being held Tuesday in a Wilmington correctional facility on a $752,000 bond.
