The police union voted Tuesday to take $410 pay cuts each, which would bring the force back to 300 officers.
The city is adding $1 million to the police budget for next year to help cover the officers' salaries.
Both sides are considering further union givebacks that could result in another 30 laid-off officers coming back to work.
All told, 60 police officers were let go this year for budgetary reasons.
