Investigators say someone opened fire on the teen on Friday night at around 8:00 along the 6300 block of Malvern Avenue.
Paramedics treated the youngster at the scene for a bullet wound to the leg, then transported him to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he is in critical condition.
So far, detectives have not indicated if they have found any motives, or if they have any specific suspects in mind.
