Burger King manager arrested for robbery participation

NEWARK, Del. - November 30, 2010

The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 a.m. this morning as two male suspects armed with handguns entered the Burger King Restaurant on Plaza Drive in Newark, Delaware just as it was opening for business.

The suspects ordered two employees and the store manager, Tina Riddle, to the back of the restaurant. They then ordered Riddle to open the safe. Riddle complied and the suspects removed an undisclosed amount of money from the safe and then fled the store.

Responding state troopers conducted an interview with Riddle and then viewed the video footage of the incident captured by the restaurant's surveillance cameras.

After noting several discrepancies in what they had observed and what they had been advised by Riddle, detectives were notified.

Further investigation by detectives revealed that Riddle had prior knowledge that the robbery was going to occur and also participated in the robbery.

Tina Riddle was arrested on charges of robbery and conspiracy. She was arraigned and committed to the Women's Correctional Institution for lack of $51,000 bail.

The investigation into this robbery is continuing.
