The man was struck just before 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of 2nd Street and Girard Avenue.
The striking vehicle took off but was stopped by responding police near 2nd and Poplar Streets.
The victim was taken to Episcopal Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
No word yet on any charges against the driver.
