Abduction attempt reported at NJ high school

CLAYTON, N.J. - December 1, 2010

It happened Wednesday around 7:30 a.m. at East Center and New streets in Clayton, New Jersey near the high school's football field.

A female Clayton Middle School student told police a suspect in a car pulled up to her and attempted to grab her while she was walking to school.

Police say the suspect grabbed the girl, but she was able to fend him off with her umbrella.

She ran home and her mother called police.

The suspect is described as wearing a black ski mask, a black hoodie, black gloves, black sweat pants and black sneakers. It is not clear if it was a man or a woman.

The suspect was reportedly driving a 4-door black vehicle, possibly a Honda, with a sunroof and a gray interior.
