The incident unfolded just before 3:00 a.m. near the intersection of 4th and Spring Garden Streets.
Police attempted a car stop on a vehicle at that location. That's when the driver apparently took off, hitting the cruiser.
The officer inside the cruiser was not injured.
Police are looking into whether the cars on scene were stolen. One person is being question by police.
