The shooting took place at Richardson Grocery located along the 900 block of Vandever Street around 6:30 p.m.
Police say a man, believed to be in his mid-20's, walked inside in the grocery store.
At that time, another man opened the door holding a handgun and made a statement to the victim.
The suspect then shot the victim once in the left thigh before fleeing from the store.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9-6', clean shaven and was last seen wearing a black hoodie.
The victim was rushed by medics to Christiana Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
