The accident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on route 54.
Police say Nicholas Gazzara was driving southdown in a 1998 Lincoln when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the northbound lanes.
It was there he traveled into the path of a 2007 box truck driven by James Williams.
Williams, who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.
Gazzara, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not determined if the road conditions were a contributing factor.
