Police chase ends in crash at cemetery

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA - December 17, 2010

The crash injured the officer behind the wheel.

The chase began in Bristol Township about 2:00 a.m., when officers spotted a car running red lights.

Philadelphia police picked up the pursuit when the car sped into the city's Northeast.

The car then headed back into Bucks County.

A few minutes later the car collided with the Philadelphia police cruiser at Newport and Old Roger roads in Bristol, when the suspect tried to avoid stop strips that officers put on the road.

The collision threw the police car into a couple of tomb stones at a cemetery.

Police arrested the suspect at the scene.

The injured officer was taken to Frankford Torresdale Aria Hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

There are no reports of any other injuriest.
