End-of-year tips for tax savings

Once you've cleaned up the Christmas wrapping paper, and before the credit card bills start coming in, it's important to take steps to maximize savings on your upcoming 2010 taxes.

It's a great time to clean out your closets and toy chests to see if you have items you can donate to a non-profit organization thrift shop like Goodwill , the Salvation Army, or The Career Wardrobe. Get a receipt and your donations are considered deductible charity contributions if you itemize on your tax returns.
