Man shot in face, drives for help in SW Phila.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - December 24, 2010

The shooting happened on the 600 block of Felton Street around 11:15 p.m.

Police say the 39-year-old victim tried to drive himself to the hospital but stopped when he reached the 6200 block of Catherine Street where he went to a nearby bar to ask for help.

When police arrived on scene, they found the victim lying on a bar table.

The victim was transported to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he remains in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the face and left leg.

So far, police have not released word on suspects or a motive.
