2 wounded in shootings at AC housing complex

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - December 25, 2010

It wasn't clear what sparked the gunfire, which began shortly before 3:30 p.m. at the Stanley Holmes Village complex. Five buildings there were struck by bullets.

Witnesses indicated that three males dressed in all dark clothing began shooting at the victims.

The victims are identified as Everick Ford, 19, and Antwan Ford, 18, of Atlantic City. Antwan Ford was struck in the face with a bullet and Everick Ford was struck in the leg.

They were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Antwan was then transported to Cooper Medical Center in Camden for surgery. He is listed in critical condition.

Everick was treated and released from AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Authorities initially thought a woman who lives at the complex had also been shot, but soon learned that bullets had only entered her home. She apparently was struck by some shattered glass and also was being treated for a respiratory issue.

Anyone with information about this shooting is urged to contact the Atlantic City Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit at 609-347-57866. Information can be called in anonymously to Crimestoppers at 609-652-1234.
