The accident occurred around 11:06 a.m. as the vehicle was traveling northbound on the Blue Route approaching the St. David's exit.
The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside while the vehicle was on fire before being rescued. That person is being airlifted to an area hospital. There is no word yet on the extent of the injuries sustained.
All northbound lanes of I-476 in that area were closed for a time as crews worked to clear the scene. Traffic is now getting by, though delays should still be expected.
Authorities are trying to determine what led to the crash.
