The flames broke out at Sweet Jenny's on the unit block of Main Street in Barnegat around 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Firefighters arrived to see heavy flames pouring from the roof.
Additional rescuers were called in to help from all over Ocean County, but it still took until 8:00 p.m. to extinguish the blaze.
The owners were at the parlor earlier in the day, but the building was empty at the time of the fire, investigators said.
The cause remains under investigation.
The fire chief said that the snow on the roadway slowed some fire trucks from getting to the scene but most made it in a timely manner.
