The fight began around 1:30 a.m. inside the home, located on 25th Street near Norris Street, when one of the men thought the other disrespected his mother.
Officials say the 46-year-old homeowner then shot the other man, 44, in the chest. The struggle continued and the gun went off again, hitting the shooter in the eye.
Both men were taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
