Three cars were involved in an early morning accident in Pike Creek, Delaware which was believed to have been caused by black ice.

The accident occurred just before 7:30 a.m. Thursday on Pike Creek Road near Kirkwood Highway.

An SUV and another vehicle collided on the ice, causing the SUV to overturn.

The driver was trapped for a short time, but medics were able to free the driver.

He was transported to Christiana Hospital in unknown condition.

A Good Samaritan stopped her car and got out to assist those involved in the accident.

While outside her vehicle, her car also slid on the ice, causing it to go off the road and down an embankment.
