Woman flown after car flips into Del. creek

A woman was flown to the hospital after her car flipped into the Red Clay Creek in Centerville, Delaware on Monday morning.

A woman had to be flown to the hospital after her car flipped over into a Delaware creek on Monday morning.

Rescuers were called to the Red Clay Creek off Mt. Cuba Road just north of Creek Road in Centerville around 8:25 a.m.

The driver, an 18-year-old woman, was able to get out of the vehicle after the crash.

When rescuers arrived they quickly put her on a stretcher and placed her in a state police helicopter.

She was then flown to Christiana Hospital with possible head and hip injuries. She was listed in stable condition.

There is no word yet on how this crash happened.

The driver involved has not yet been identified.
