Police say a man exposed himself to a woman in a McDonald's parking lot, then walked into the restaurant still exposed.

It happened around 7:50 p.m. on Monday at the restaurant in the 2300 block of Glasgow Avenue in Newark, Delaware.

Police say a 26-year-old woman was in the parking lot when she saw the suspect, Joel Stevenson, standing next to a motorcycle.

That's when, she told police, she noticed Stevenson exposing himself. The victim says Stevenson then entered the restaurant still exposed. At this point, she called 9-1-1.

Troopers said surveillance video from the McDonald's showed Stevenson approaching the sales counter and making a purchase with his genitalia still exposed.

A short time later, the suspect exited the restaurant and then fled the parking lot on the motorcycle. The victim was able to obtain the registration number of the fleeing motorcycle.

Police say a computer check revealed that the registered owner of the motorcycle was the same suspect captured on the video surveillance.

Police say they also learned that Stevenson was a registered sex offender. Troopers then responded to Stevenson's home where he was taken into custody without incident.

Stevenson was arrested and charged with lewdness and indecent exposure.

He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution for lack of $750.00 secured bail.
